A Message from Carroll Engineering's New President,
Kenneth E. Heydt, P.E.

As the firm’s newly appointed President, I’d to like introduce myself and welcome you to our updated website. I was elected on March 18, 2010 by the Board of Directors. It is a tremendous honor and I am humbled by the Board’s confidence in my abilities to lead CEC. It is my goal to continue the excellent tradition of providing quality engineering services that our clients have relied on since 1973. I am the beneficiary of mentoring under two great Presidents before me, Harry Barford and Jim Graf. They have taught me a great deal about leadership and how to do it the Carroll way. We will continue their vision and incorporate their values because it defines who we are.

To give you a little bit of my background, I started working for CEC in 1981. Over time, I became the Manager of the Environmental/Authority Department and in 2000 was promoted to Executive Vice President with expanded supervisory duties over the firm’s Authority/Municipal Services, Planning & Site Design, GIS and IT Departments.

In this new position, one of my biggest challenges has been leading the firm through a slow economy. I am proud to report that CEC has been able to remain competitive and prosper during these tough times, even ranking #16 on the Philadelphia Business Journal's 2010 List of Top Engineering Firms. This success is due in part to our corporate work ethic and commitment to providing excellent service to our clients. Moving forward, CEC plans to expand its service presence in the region, by increasing our marketing efforts to take advantage of our technical expertise while continuing to provide quality services to all of our clients.
